A Guide to Your Maternity Session

At Infinity & Beyond Photography, maternity photography is an experience created to honor the sacred journey into motherhood. I believe this season deserves to be captured with intention and emotion, reflecting the quiet strength, grace, and beauty that come with carrying new life. Every session is designed to feel calm, elegant, and personal, with gentle posing and warm guidance that highlight your natural glow and connection to your baby.

My purpose is to create timeless, heirloom portraits that celebrate your story. From the soft curve of your belly to the anticipation in your expression, each image is photographed with care so it not only shows how you looked, but also reminds you how this extraordinary moment in your life felt.

Your Maternity Experience

You may choose either an in studio session or an outdoor session. In studio sessions offer a refined, intimate style with soft lighting and curated wardrobe pieces that create a timeless, elegant look. Outdoor sessions bring a natural, airy feel with warm evening light and movement filled portraits that feel organic and free.

Maternity sessions are exclusive to clients who also reserve their newborn session with me. This allows me to create a cohesive experience and ensure your journey from pregnancy to newborn is beautifully documented with the same style, care, and attention to detail.

The Details

Your Session Timeline

I recommend scheduling your maternity session between 29 and 35 weeks of pregnancy. This timeframe is ideal because your bump has beautifully rounded and defined, yet you are still comfortable enough to move with ease and enjoy the experience. Your energy is typically higher during this stage, and it allows us to create graceful, flattering portraits that highlight your radiant glow without the physical strain that can come later in pregnancy. Securing your session early also ensures availability and gives us time to plan your gowns, styling, and overall aesthetic with care.

Wardrobe & Styling

Your session includes access to my full maternity client closet. You may select up to three gowns, bodysuits, or specialty pieces. Once your session is officially booked, you will receive a private gallery of all available options so you can choose pieces that reflect your personal style. If your partner or children will be joining you, I encourage simple and neutral clothing choices. Soft, timeless tones photograph beautifully. Avoid bold patterns, graphics, and text. For adults, one solid color is ideal, and black or white is always a strong choice that pairs well with every gown.

If you would like help coordinating outfits or selecting tones that will photograph beautifully together, I am always happy to guide you.

During Your Session

Your maternity experience will last between 60 and 90 minutes. This gives us the perfect amount of time to capture a variety of poses and emotions, from soft and serene to bold and artistic. My sessions are relaxed, guided, and enjoyable. I will help with posing throughout the entire session so you always feel comfortable and confident.

If you would like your partner or other children included in your portraits, they are always welcome. Some of the most cherished images come from quiet, in-between moments when no one is aware of the camera. I encourage you to enjoy the experience, have fun, and allow yourself to be fully present.

Inside Your Proofing Gallery

After your session, I begin the careful process of preparing your proofing gallery. This gallery is a curated collection of unedited or very lightly edited preview images that gives you an early look at the beautiful variety we created together. Each image is presented in a clean, easy to navigate format so you can view them at your own pace and choose the ones that speak to you the most.

To help you envision your final artwork, one to three images in your proofing gallery will be fully edited. These completed samples show you the exact level of refinement, detail, and quality you can expect in your final gallery. They serve as a visual reference, allowing you to feel confident and excited about your selections.

Your proofing gallery will arrive within seven days of your session, along with simple instructions on how to make your selections. You will also receive a sneak peek within 48 hours so you can enjoy a preview while the full gallery is being prepared.

Your Final Gallery 

Your curated gallery is a stunning collection of expertly edited images, crafted with precision and care to highlight the beauty of your maternity journey. Delivered within three weeks of final invoice payment, your gallery features your chosen favorites from the proofing gallery, transformed into a cohesive and timeless visual narrative.

Your images are showcased in a secure, online gallery that offers a sophisticated and user-friendly viewing experience. From this space, you can order premium-quality prints, download high-resolution files to any device, and easily share your cherished moments with family and friends or on social media.

This gallery serves as more than just a delivery mechanism; it is a beautiful tribute to your memories, intentionally preserved for you to enjoy for years to come.

Reserving Your Maternity Session

Maternity sessions are best scheduled between 29–35 weeks, when your bump is beautifully showcased and you’re still feeling comfortable. To ensure a personalized and unhurried experience, I accept a limited number of sessions each month.

Once you reach out via my contact form or email, we’ll select a session date that fits seamlessly within this special season. From there, you’ll receive guidance on styling, location, and what to expect, so everything feels effortless and thoughtfully planned.
